Diet

Eggs are a nutritious super food. They are high in protein, low in carbs and a source of vitamin A, vitamin D, phosphorus, vitamin B2, vitamin B12, iron, zinc, folic acid and vitamin E. Eggs also contain lutein and zeaxanthin, which are two antioxidants that can help protect your eyesight.

Ingredients

When it comes to cooking scrambled eggs, all you need are two simple ingredients: eggs and butter.

  • eggs
  • butter
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Optional ingredients

  • add fresh herbs
  • add hot sauce
  • adding milk
  • adding heavy cream
  • add cheese, cheddar cheese is delicious in scrambled eggs
  • onion powder
  • garlic powder
  • olive oil instead of butter

Equipment

  • air fryer - since air fryers vary in size, you may need to adjust cook times and cooking temperature
  • spatula or wooden spoon
  • small bowl
  • oven safe, small baking dish

Instructions

This recipe is so simple there is no prep time to making eggs in the air fryer.

How to cook scrambled eggs in an air fryer

Step 1: Add butter to a small baking dish. Melt in air fryer. Brush melted butter to coat sides and bottom of pan.

A non-stick pan works best.

Step 2: Whisk eggs in a small bowl.

Use a medium bowl.

Step 3: Add whisked eggs to buttered pan.

Whisk well for fluffy eggs.

Step 4: Stir eggs. Place air fryer basket back into the air fryer oven.

Finish cooking eggs in residual heat.

Step 5: Scramble cooked eggs.

Give one last scramble before serving.

Step 6: Serve.

Serving suggestions

Serve these eggs with air fryer bacon and spice them up with a dab of homemade sambal oelek, a mouth-watering, chunky hot sauce.

Storage

Leftover scrambled eggs are great served in a breakfast sandwich or burrito.

Store leftover eggs in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.

Description

Making scrambled eggs in an air fryer is a quick and easy way to make a keto-friendly, protein-rich breakfast in minutes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt butter by placing in a small baking pan. Then place pan in the air fryer. Set air fryer at 400°F for 2 minutes. Brush melted butter along the sides and bottom of the pan to coat.
  2. Beat eggs in a small bowl.
  3. Pour eggs into the hot baking pan.
  4. Cook in the air fryer for 2 minutes at 400°F.
  5. Stir eggs with spatula. 
  6. Push air fryer basket back into air fryer for eggs to finish cooking in residual heat, 1-2 minutes.
  7. Remove the eggs from the air fryer, scramble with a spatula, season with salt and pepper, and serve.

Notes

  • Adjust temperature and cook times for soft scrambled or hard scrambled eggs.
  • Temperatures and cook times may vary depending on air fryer make and model as well as how many eggs you use.
